- Policy on Instruction in the Responsible Conduct of Research (RCR)
- The Public Health Service (PHS) Policy on Instruction in the Responsible Conduct of Research (RCR) was issued December 1, 2000. This policy, issued by PHS (Public Health Service), requires that "all staff at extramural institutions engaged in research or research changing with PHS funds, or who work on PHS-supported projects."

Web Sites on the Protection of Human Subjects

- Office of Human Research Protections
- (OHRP), within the Office of Public Health Service, (OPHS), and the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS), formerly the OPRR. The OHRP is charged with interpreting and overseeing implementation of the regulations regarding the Protection of Human Subjects codified at Title 45, Part 46, of the Code of Federal Regulations (45 CFR 46) promulgated by the DHHS. The OHRP has oversight and educational responsibilities wherever DHHS funds are used to conduct or support research involving human subjects.

- This 2000 reprint of the Public Health Service (PHS) Policy on Humane Care and Use of Laboratory Animals is substantively identical to the original Policy promulgated in 1986 to implement the Health Research Extension Act of 1985 (Public Law 99-158).
